Eyes Wide Open
It is December 31st 2019 and I am reflecting upon not just the last 12 months, but the last 10 years as we enter a new decade. I have remembered the highs and the lows. For me the last ten years had more challenges than any other decade in my life. These difficult moments were important life lessons.
Ten years ago I was happily married living in a beautiful home in the French Alps. I travelled to many countries and had the time of my life. Then life took over so it was my time to go through a few challenges... While trying to help someone who couldn’t help themself meant I had to leave what had been my safe haven, my home in order to avoid losing my health. I burnt out physically, hit rock bottom mentally and I learned who were my real friends.
Everything is connected - the good and the bad. We have our own pathway to walk and everything along it and everyone we meet, happens for a reason. Just look back at the most difficult times in your life. I can bet you see that one horrible thing led, to something really positive, that otherwise wouldn’t have happened.
Everyone on this planet goes through this. Nobody gets away without learning these lessons – the important thing is to realize these lessons are to help yourself and possibly somebody else because of that experience, as we are all connected.
So thank you to all who did make my life pretty miserable at times! You are just a curve that got my life back on track and you are now in my past and left behind me as I move onwards and upwards. I put on my big girl pants and became my own superhero!
Thanks to all of you who have been following my little blog. Your comments are always welcome. I wish you all a wonderful new year – let’s bring on a new roaring 20s in 2020!
