June 4th 2022 would have been my former husband’s birthday. He died a couple of months ago, suddenly in his sleep. He would have been 52 years old.
We had an amicable split in 2016 and even though things were hard I always wanted us to be friends and keep in touch. He moved to Canada to start his life a few years ago with his new partner, who he married. Sadly soon after that I no longer heard from him.
I always thought we would meet again. I am very close with his family and often asked after him but never thought for a minute I would never see him again. It has brought up many mixed emotions and tears have flowed.
He was someone instantly likeable the minute you met him. He had that personality of making people feel comfortable instantly, and if you liked wine, you were going to be handed a glass immediately! It’s hard to write all of these things because he struggled so much with himself to finding his place in life. I can only hope when he moved to Canada that he found some inner solace.
He had sleep problems and really enjoyed being my guinea pig when I was training to become a certified sophrologist. His sleep improved and he always loved that instant state of calm sophrology brought him.
If you are struggling with the loss of a loved one I can help you. Sophrology helps you to release the emotional pain when we suffer from grief.
RIP Jérôme.
